The Damariscotta Farmers’ Market:
A Delicious Way to Go Local!
Maine’s midcoast is blessed with a wide variety of local food producers, and many of them showcase their goods at the Damariscotta Farmers’ Market. Rain or shine, this biweekly event features vegetables, flowers, meats, dairy products, mushrooms, baked goods and other farm-raised and value-added products.

The Benefits of Local - When you buy local products at the Damariscotta Farmers’ Market, you:
• Find fresh food packed with nutrition, such as veggies harvested hours before and baked goods free of preservatives

• Reduce fuel consumption by reducing the food miles of what you eat. The average meal travels 1500 miles from field to your plate. The average distance from our farms, fields and kitchens to the Damariscotta Farmers’ Market is 18 miles.

• Support the local economy and its agricultural community

• Protect endangered farmland and open spaces

• Get to know your community! Meet the people growing your food and connect with others who get local!
